Typical Architectural Specifications For Duschqueen Frameless Enclosures

Part 1: General
Provide a frameless tub or shower enclosure as manufactured by: DUSCHQUEEN 461 West Main Street, Wycoff, NJ 07481. Substitution of similar products by other manufacturers will be considered, only as an equal substitute for the product specified.

Furnish all materials, equipment and service required for the fabrication of a custom Duschqueen enclosure, specified herein and/or indicated on the appropriate working drawings. Specifications shall include:

1.
Heavy glass door, with all appropriate hardware
2.
In-line panels, return panels or buttress panels.
3.
All necessary track and mounting hardware.
4. All waterproof and steam tight vinyl porfiles.


Part 2: Product

1.
All glass shall be 3/8" clear tempered. All exposed edges shall be diamond ground and polished smooth with a 45º chamfer not to exceed 1/16 of an inch on each edge.

Hinges shall be constructed of 100% #316 stainless steel, 1/8" thick stock, with two stainless steel bushings, supplied with two velbestos gaskets, and stainless steel machine screws for fixing through two 5/8" holes provided in glass.

3.
All double acting hinges, wall mount or glass mount, shall be of solid brass with stainless steel mechanisms.

4. Vinyl profiles shall be provided to effect a waterproof and/or steam tight seal. Profiles shall be clear PVC vinyl, dual durometer (#304), clear acrylic (#305) or clear ABS with a surgical rubber sweep (#501/302). Profiles are to be placed over exposed edges of door panel, where appropriate.

5. Handles to be solid brass or stainless steel furnished to match hinges. All necessary channel shall be 5/8" x 5/8" x 1/16" in a matching finish. Solid brass or stainless steel channel may be specified, at an additional cost.

6. All mounting hardware shall be provided to fix hinges to wall and fix channel to surface. All mounting screws shall be stainless steel.

Part 3: Execution


All Duschqueen products shall be installed in a professional manner. All glass and metal channel shall be installed plumb and level.

All profiles shall be cut to length and fitted neatly to glass to effect a waterproof and/or steam tight seal.

All glass surfaces shall be left totally clean before leaving job site.
